What it takes to provide the best Mexican food in Fort Worth
What Makes a Mexican Restaurant Great? It’s Our Soul, Fort Worth!
When an eatery is located this close to the Mexican border, no Mexican Restaurant in Fort Worth can afford to fool around in the kitchen! We’re a family-based cantina known for authentic dishes and we make no apologies when bragging about our tasty plates of spicy, colorful food—the kind of food you expect to be served when visiting a family-style restaurant in Mexico.
Wonder what sets us apart from every other restaurant serving Mexican food in Fort Worth? Frankly, it’s our soul. We’ve invested more than our Mexican heritage in our menus and wouldn’t be caught dead, even on Dia de los Muertos, serving cocktails and spirits that don’t reflect our ethnic pride. That stated, it’s hard to sample culinary signature treats from your computer chair (unless you order, pick up and let your salsa-dipped fingers do the walking on your keyboard!), so check out reasons you should get your fine self over to Benito’s today!
The Neighborhood Welcomes Diners
When an area of a major metro city establishes a reputation for a “restaurant row,” you know city fathers prioritize feeding the hungry in style! Magnolia Avenue, home to Benito’s, is no exception. Stroll eclectic and oftentimes pricey bistros scattered along Magnolia to soak in the atmosphere, but when your tummy rumbles and only a hand-rolled burrito will do, wave goodbye to those starchy, pretentious bistros and head for Benito’s where comfort, atmosphere and great fragrances greet you the moment you enter. We’ve been around longer than many of our neighbors and we wouldn’t be talking about why loyal customers prefer our place to our neighbors if we couldn’t do so with pride: we specialize in fabulous food at prices so reasonable, order everything on the menu and still walk away with pesos in your pocket.
The Atmosphere is Muy Bueno
Imagine platters of empanadas sailing across a dining room that looks like it’s straight out of a sci-fi movie. I don’t think so, you say; even the thought of sleek décor is enough to ruin your appetite. It should. Mexican food served in a place that doesn’t pamper all of your senses is just wrong, which is why Benito’s has both great cuisine and atmosphere. Familiar with great Mexican muralists like Diego Rivera? We’ve got our own homage to this highly stylized school of art thanks to a local Latina commissioned to sprawl a taste of Mexico across our walls. Colorful blankets draped from ceilings add touches of texture, and even the chairs with woven seats have been painted in colors that could make a rainbow blush. Look up! It’s not a bird or a plane—colorful piñatas dance overhead, so there’s always a fiesta going on under Benito’s roof.
What’s to Eat? Only the best Mexican food, of course!
Now, you’re getting to the meat of the conversation. Benito’s never met a cut of beef, pork or chicken it couldn’t morph into beautifully turned out main courses with lavish amounts of garnishes and accompaniments plus beverages galore. There’s a reason our menu is so exciting: Benito’s opened its doors for the first time in 1981. We’ve had time to accommodate our menu choices to the palates of loyal diners who are not shy about telling us when they like or don’t like a dish. You’d be hard-pressed to find a restaurant reviewer who hasn’t fallen in love with our pico de gallo and fresh guacamole—two authentic sides known to drive traffic on their own. But to appreciate our specialties, you must read our menu. Our job is to entice you to head for the pull-down tab on our website. We dare you to close out the page without salivating.
Who Says So?
Loyal patrons have been coming back for decades and some pretty heavyweight restaurant reviewers sing our praises, too. Query patrons on their favorites and chili rellenos, milanesa, tamales oaxaqueno plus enchiladas wind on lists of most favored main courses. Need a recommendation? Follow the lead of a Texas Monthly reviewer by ordering the “gigantic Oaxaca style chicken-and-mole tamal wrapped in a banana leaf [that’s big enough to] feed a starving family.” Tacos on the Benito’s menu compelled another reviewer to say that our tacos “exert a powerful pull.” Translation, Amigo? The Benito’s taco menu is awesome. Rumor has it the guacamole spoils avocado lovers forever. We don’t just serve the best Mexican food in Fort Worth, we guarantee it in English and in Spanish.
Wear Your Passion.
Ready to plant yourself at a table at Benito’s? We see you nodding your head yes. First order of the day? Choose exotic cocktails that invite you to close your eyes and be swept away by images of Mexico City cafes or cooling waters off Playa del Carmen. Next, celebrate your experience by adding a Benito’s t-shirt to your wardrobe. Order it in a dark color if you get overly enthusiastic when dipping tortillas into sauces that beg to be finished down to the last bit of chili pepper. Seriously. Benito’s isn’t so much a Mexican restaurant in Fort Worth as it is a fiesta for the mouth 365 days a year. Okay. So we close for holidays. But we mean serious business. We’ve got a napkin, a chair and a packed menu waiting for you, so act on that impulse, stop reading this and get yourself over to Benito’s now, Mijo!
